djzack67: New Channel Changes
So did everyone note the new channels and where they moved.

Mostly... I haven't had time to reconfigure my presets in the car.. I keep clicking the button for Disorder, and end up with Iceberg, what the hell that is... Canadaian Pop, maybe?

Disorder is now on 33. They finally have a channel with their name on it again.

hm.. so have they moved Area 33 again? or is it (gasp) gone?
I'm glad they've moved Disorder down out of the stratosphere though... have they perhaps restored Planet Jazz?

I have to say I like the changes they made to boombox. The Electro-Rock is kinda cool.

I think I listened to Iceberg (and the other one that was next to it) a long time ago (for like a week) when they were in the 90-somethings and then forgot about them.
I know that Area 33 moved to 38. Haven't gone searching for anything else.
On another note, some of the station ID's on 26 are starting to sound more like XM Radio's station ID's, which bothers me a bit.

well, with the merger happening (or not, who knows) I can see a consolidation of channels, and probably a lot more of us sounding like them, and them sounding like us, until you reach a happy medium.

I hope LOC (which I love, so don't get me wrong) ends up sounding just a tad more like XMU -- I'm on the road constantly every day, and i'm driving/listening for around 25 - 50% of that time, and I find it unacceptable that i hear repeats + the same songs they play every day. how, with such an enormous catalog that they would have available, are they playing "top 40 of indie" essentially?!

i couldn't agree more. XM's indie station blows LOC away.

well now I need to go the other way a bit -- I still like LOC and listen to it mainly (when i'm not listening to Howard), they have good taste and good personality. Plus what I've heard of XMU, it seems to be a playlist where they're trying to say "here are 100 songs in a row you've never heard by bands you've never heard of". I do like hearing new stuff, but when I heard it it seemed a bit bogged down in obscure material to the point where it sounded like they were playing basement tapes. What I'm hoping for is a healthy medium -- basically LOC with a much wider playlist.

Yeah, it's actually not a bad channel. I listen to it once in awhile. They play alot of Neil Young, if that's your thing. :)
